SMALL SERIES INJECTION MOULDING WITH ALUMINUM AND STEEL TOOLING
rpm offers injection moulding that is “Made in Germany” from start to finish. Having metal milling and molding in one location is particularly important for projects with a high need for security or a degree of technical complexity. With rpm, you have a direct link to the production floor for rapid iteration cycles or design modifications.
Because we work primarily with lower volume, non-automated injection moulding we are the perfect partner for low volume production in batch size 200 to 10,000 parts. We also can 3D print using DLS (Digital Light Synthesis) to bridge the gap with injection-moulding similar parts that are available in days for functional testing.
Our customers develop a long-term trust with our team as we plan and execute production. We pull from 10 years of in-house injection moulding experience with a focus on technically accurate parts. Under our ISO 9001:2015 certification, all projects include full documentation of production, traceability of materials, secure data processing, and validated quality assurance processes. Because we focus on our niche of low-volume, high-value production we still offer competitive prices. Injection moulding is an important cornerstone for rpm representing 30% of our turnover. With that track record, we are producing small and specialty series parts for many of the largest companies and their suppliers throughout Europe. |

SPECIALTY SERIES INJECTION MOULDING OF PLASTIC PARTS
A key focus for the injection moulding at rpm is specialty series production. These are projects that are too small to be interesting for a standard injection moulder but still require a high degree of accuracy and data security.
The European companies and suppliers that rely on rpm are primarily focused on technical products from automotive to machine construction and the electronics industries. Under the ISO 9001:2015 certification, each tool and production step at rpm is documented and validated prior to shipping our parts for use in customer-facing products.
SUPPORTING PRE-SERIES AND PRODUCTION VALIDATION
Long-term development relationships are standard at rpm. In preparing for series, a production mould may go through 3-6 adjustments during the course of finalizing a set of parts. Our customers often order batches of 50-500 parts to use in assemblies for mechanical tests. For each new iteration, they speak directly with us at rpm to mill adjustments to the mould or add a moulding insert. In these projects, quick reaction times, short delivery distances, and having a direct contact allow product development to move quickly and efficiently forward.
ASSEMBLY AND SPECIALTY SERVICES
rpm has over 15 workstations for finishing and assembly services. Our workflow varies from final polishing, to assembling parts produced in-house, finishing with inserts or adding externally sourced components. Depending on the product requirements, we also perform technical measurements, part scanning to verify quality or testing for performance. All additional services are performed to technical specifications and documented for a clean audit trail.
OVERMOULDING ONTO PLASTIC OR METAL COMPONENTS
A background in rapid product development gave rpm an unfair advantage in producing unconventional injection moulded parts. Since most of our production is done with partial rather than full automation, we are ideally positioned to place additional metal and plastic components to be overmoulded. With the DLS technology, we have also been producing complex inserts and overmoulding the larger, standard plastic casings and elements around those 3D printed parts.
INJECTION MOULDING IN HIGH-QUALITY MATERIALS THAT MEET INDUSTRY STANDARDS
Because of our focus on producing technical components, we work exclusively with highest quality materials. In most cases, our quotation includes the procurement of material. However, we also often produce parts with specialty materials provided directly by our customers. Part of the service at rpm includes material recommendations as part of our offer. The documentation of all material use is part of our standard process within the ISO 9001:2015 certification.
2K INJECTION MOULDING FOR A WIDER MATERIAL PALLETE
Using our experience with casting in Polyamide (PA6) and Reaction Injection Moulding (RIM) we quickly added two-component injection moulding to our in-house expertise. For over two decades, we are processing specialty series materials including flexible materials, silicones, foams and reinforced plastic blends.
FULL-SERVICE PROJECT MANAGEMENT
We have a dedicated project management team to track complex projects for our production team. After each order, they track each step from defining the project to ordering additional components, and from collecting documentation to coordinating delivery. Our project management team makes the difference in terms of bringing reliable, rapid products to the hands of our customers.
